Greatly influenced by photographers such as David Bailey and Patrick Lichfield, I found their emotive images shaping my own development from the very beginning. Their work set a standard I constantly strove toward, pushing me to define and then redefine my own personal goals. Many of those early ambitions have long since been reached and replaced by others, some more modest, some more ambitious, but all of them have brought their own kind of satisfaction.
Photography has broadened my mind and kept me young. It has taught me tolerance and preserved my sanity. It has given me sunstroke and frostbite, carried me across countries and, on one memorable occasion, brought me down to earth with a crash landing. It has taught me patience as I stood for hours waiting for the right moment, and endurance as I worked through the night chasing the last trace of light. It has made me happy far more often than it has made me sad, and it has given me memories that live on, fixed forever on film.
