Peatlands explores this soft organic material made from partly decayed plant matter which creates the most amazingly wild places , teeming with birds, insects, unusual plants and found within both natural and man made structures. Today there are nearly 1.7 million hectares of deep peat soils in Britain which cover 12% of the UK, an essential resource if the UK wishes to reach its target of an 80% reduction in agricultural greenhouse gases by 2050
